The Lion’s Gate Inn is located in the heart of Wine Country in Newberg Oregon. This 1910-era craftsman was restored to become a “green” bed and breakfast. It has four private guest suites, each with a private bathroom which is supplied by solar hot water.

Robert Knowles Construction leveraged the following to make it a sustainable project.

• Salvaged and reused all interior trim
• Reused the kitchen cabinets in kitchen remodel
• Refinished original fir floors
• Added natural light to rooms
• Added insulation wherever possible
• Installed Solar Hot Water with PV
• Installed duel tankless water heaters
• Utilized low VOC paints
• Installed ENERGY STAR® rated appliances
• Incorporated storm water recovery into outdoor living space addition
